Unpopular Book Tag

Image
Unpopular Book Tag   It is always a horrible thing that not everyone loves your favorite books. I respect you, though…but it’s so great to find others with the same opinions of yours! Yet today…I’m not going to write a popular book tag…I’m doing an unpopular book tag!   1.      A POPULAR BOOK OR SERIES THAT YOU LIKE & EVERYONE ELSE DOESN’T. Before I started my book blog…I’ll go to Twilight . It gets so many praises and negative comments on the same time! But after I read more books…I feel it boring and the romance…was horrible. Still…I love all the characters and some of their interactions are fun to read…except Bella, Edward, and Jacob. (Wait…those are the protagonists? Yeap…I never like them.) Besides Twilight Sags, I’ll also pick The Beautiful Creatures series. I love the first book, but it seems that many people get bored toward the end of the series. Well…when I was reading this book…I skipped some part of it and never re-read them. But I like the ending and I w

5 Bad Habits of a Book Blogger/Writer

Image
5 Bad Habits of a Book Blogger/Writer   The more I blog…I develop some series habits while I am blogging. Really…they are such BAD habits!!! And I think some of the reasons are also because the more book blog and book tube I watch…the more serious those problems I become. But, I’m not going to change those habits! I say they are BAD habits…but that doesn’t mean I need to change myself…right? I enjoy them, and they’re all great company…most of the time.   1.      Become DRAMATIC . Well…I think that’s all fangirls and fanboys bad habit. Just look at Goodreads! Whenever a title or cover is there, you can see all dramatic expression. And almost all of the bloggers need to add a bit dramatic stuff into the articles…right? Unless your writing is really, really great. Unfortunately…I’m neither a great writer nor a dramatic person. But…I find myself become more and more dramatic recently. Just look at my Kiss of Deception post! I couldn’t forget all my reaction when I’m reading

The One and Only—April Book Haul

Image
The One and Only—April Book Haul      Yes, you’re not mistake. ONE AND ONLY . Only one book in my April book haul…unless I miraculously get more money…than I’ll put them into May’s book haul list. Well…back to title! Why do I only get one book for April’s book haul? Because…I bought the mightiest, the magnificent, the extremely perfect book—Elantris 10 th anniversary leather-bound edition!!! Yeah!!!   I’ve waited for this book for so long!! I missed the first edition…because I didn’t have the money then. (100 dollars for book, and if you’re international shipment…30 extra expense. Or if you wish to get it quicker…you can add 100…but I’m not in such a rush…so…save my purse for other books.) But it’s worth the money, it’s so beautiful! And author’s signed edition!!! (Screaming!!!!)

The Book Courtship Tag

Image
The Book Courtship Tag     Once again, I saw this book tag on YouTube and wanted to do it…so here we come! Another book tag…so many book tags…wow…    1.      Initial Attraction: What’s a book you buy base on the cover? Well…many books? Maybe most of them…? I might count some of them for you: A Queen of The Tearling, The Captive Maiden, A Discovery of Witches, Siren, Kiss of Description, Princesses at the Midnight Ball… WOW…don’t you dare tell me don’t judge the book by its cover…because they are all great books. As it turns out, I have a great taste on book covers so I seldom make mistake on judging book. Well of course I’ll miss some good book because of this reason…but at least I won’t buy a book that truly disappoints me.

Stars Above

Image
Stars Above By Marissa Meyer   The Enchantment continues…   I finally got the chance to read it!!! I was so fond of that cover since the minute I saw it and decided to read it. Well…yes, I hadn’t read Cinder back then…just a brief knowledge about this wonderful series. And as it turns out…it’s fantastic!!! I love this book! And I won’t tell you that I turned to Something Old, Something New immediately when I got this book. I definitely didn’t do that. I definitely didn’t turn to the last page of Winter and Stars Above as soon as I got the books. By the way…the ending is perfect. Although I was a bit disappoint with the ending of Winter…but that was all well after I read Stars Above! Ladies and gentlemen…welcome—Stars Above! The novella of The Lunar Chronicles!

Jungle Book 2016

Image
Jungle Book 2016 Director: Jon Favreau Starring: Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Neel Sethi, Idris Elba   Guess what? I watched a new movie!!! Jungle Book!!! Ahhh!!!! (I think having Ahhh!!! in my review has already become a habit…they exist everywhere…) As you might know…or not…Disney is now under a series of progress of filming live-action movie based on their previous animation movie. I don’t know why…but they’re mostly great! And I think that’s what matter. We got Maleficent in 2014, Cinderella in 2015, now, we get Jungle Book in 2016!!! And…(Drum Roll please…) we are about to watch Beauty and the Beast in 2017!!!! How exciting!

Top Five Phantom of The Opera Version

Image
Top Five Phantom of The Opera Version   As you might find that I’m an addicted lover not only books but also musical. Sadly, I can’t watch so many even if I wanted to. Thankfully, we can watch so tiny pieces on YouTube so I can briefly know them. Asides from short cut, a lot cover version also display on YouTube…especially The Phantom of The Opera. It’s a worldwide musical! I do believe that mostly all people on Earth at least heard once or twice about it, whether you watch musical or not. It’s soooo famous! And not to mention the classic music! I just love that song. So, I’m here today to introduce you my five favorite version of covers and performances…and I might add extra…hum…”funny” editions into them.

The Siren

Image
The Siren By Kiera Cass     A girl with a secret. The boy of her dreams. An Ocean between them. I’d waited for an eternity for this. I’d have waited all over again if I had to. I was meant to kiss the boy, designed to be held by him. All the careful postures I held melt away, and I pulled him closer. We were STARS . We were Music . We were Time .   I’ve longed for this book for so long!!! After I’ve read The Selection Series, I managed to find other books by Kiera Cass, and I found The Siren! But…this book wasn’t available then…it was already out of sell. However, after few months…the book was announced to print again!!! And with a brand new beautiful cover! I love this cover so much! I just love the blue ocean, the dress, and the back cover. It all looks so great together!

Dream (Short Story)

Image
Dream A dream. A girl. Flying...   Soundly at night. In her dream, she is flying, with breathtaking wings that flies behind her back.   She is a fairy.   And she is flying high in the sky, embracing the darkness.   She becomes the master of the dark.   Then, a star appears. Shining brightly at her, calling her, softly, gently.   And to her amazement...   The star is transparent. Like a glass, like a mirror, reflecting all the light beside.   She looks through the star, there, she sees another world.    A world with innumerable fairies just like her. Flowers blooming beautifully around, a sky with endless blue, and a lake full of magical creatures.   She tries to fly into the world, and magically, she passes like nothing is stopping her.   There, the girl plays happily with her new friends. She stays for day and night, singing, playing, and finally, she knows where she belongs.   She belongs to this world, the world of star. She belongs wi

Kissed

Image
Kissed By Cameron Dokey   Absence makes the heart grow fonder in three romantic retellings…   She did it again!!! Such amazing fairytale retellings!!! Although…I didn’t love it as much as Once. It doesn’t surprise me that much, I prefer more the twist in Once. Still, a great book, without doubt. Kissed contains three Cameron Dokey’s stories: Belle, Sunlight and Shadow, and Winter’s Child. Hum…Belle is my favorite, which is the retelling of Beauty and the Beast…which I’ve already read thousands of retelling. As for Sunlight and Shadow…it doesn’t count as a fairytale retelling at all! It’s an opera retelling! Yes, mark my words, opera. It’s a retelling of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, which has the most famous song about the Queen of Night. And the last one, Winter’s Child, the retelling of Snow Queen. I’m not quite familiar with this story, actually. I only have a brief memory when I read in my childhood…very, very long time ago.   I love Cameron Dokey’s writing, the words se

Spring Time Book Tag

Image
Spring Time Book Tag      Welcome to spring! I know some of your country is approaching to Spring, so this tag will be a welcoming Spring tag! As for most who are like me…Spring is about to turns in to Summer…let’s say it’s a “goodbye Spring tag.” As for those who are anticipating for winter…well…I’ve nothing to say… This book tag is inspired by “Fall Time Cozy Book Tag” on YouTube last year, and I found it quite interesting to do…however, as you can see…we’re not in Autumn now, so I change it as a spring book tag! Also, I’d change the majority of the tag inside, and create my own. So, let’s get started!

The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles 1)

Image
The Kiss of Decetpion Mary E. Pearson A princess must find her place in a reborn world.   Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale…breath, Vivian, breath…AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t tell you how excellent this book is!!! I love it SOOO much!!!! (Jumping around my room, screaming, dancing…) Oh gash, The Kiss of Deception is perfect!!! Who say that I hate love triangle? Please, take all of them back!!! I finish within a day. I just devoured it as soon as possible, and I stuck on my chair and never moved a single movement. Since the moment I sat on my desk, I couldn’t leave the book. Whenever I went, the book followed. It’s so great!!! I can’t even calm down while I am typing this review!!! Just go and read it!!! Who cares about the “love triangle” part? It has the best romance I’ve ever seen!!! (Breath~ Calm down, Vivian…calm down.) WOW…

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles 4)

Image
Winter By Marissa Meyer   Ahhh!!! Why did I finish this book so early!!! And why did I pick it up so lately???? I need more!!!! No!!! And that ending!!! Ahhh!!! (Screaming everywhere… fangirl mode opening…3…2…1… ) I’m just so glad that I read this series!!! I must have mentioned it thousands time…but it is so great and don’t ever pick up the Chinese edition, no matter how beautiful the covers are!!! I need more Cinder and Scarlet and Cress and Winter!!! Thankfully…I still get Fairest and Stars Above to read…I know, Fairest should read before Winter, so I won’t hate Levana so much…but I haven’t got that book yet! And I’m run out of money…thanks to the extremely expensive Elantris 10 th anniversary… So…let’s wait for May’s book haul! As for Stars Above…I’ve already finish the last story…and I love it!!! I can’t wait to finish this review and devour that book within one day!!! Yeah!!! Now…the retelling of Snow White! And she is definitely not the silly girl we saw in Disney movie

Cress (The Lunar Chronicles 3)

Image
Cress By Marissa Meyer   How come I read this book after it published for so long…? I should have read it immediately as soon as Cress was released!!! (That should all blame the Chinese translation, if it wasn’t the horrible name, I’ll pick it up sooner!!!) It’s so good! I must say it’s one of the best among the entire series for so long! The plots are exciting and the characters are amazing!!! I kept reading the entire book, and managed to finish it as soon as possible. If you love Cinder, you’ll see her in many part of this book. If you love Scarlet, she’ll appear whenever you miss her. If you love our protagonist—Cress, you’ll find how cute she is inside this book. Remember the Lunar who connected Cinder in the first book? Now we can finally meet her!!! (Plus…we can also meet another charming little girl inside this book!) Behold—the retelling of Rapunzel!
