Deity (The Covenant Series 3)

Deity
Jennifer L. Armentraut

History is on repeat, and things didn’t go so well the last time.

This series is getting better and better!!! I’m so glad that I keep reading and didn’t give up on it! Especially…there are some hot, heart-touched, emotional scenes. (Fanning myself…) And I love how the relationship goes…it’s getting better and better!!! It takes me more than a month to finish Half-Blood, about one week to finish Pure…guess what? It only takes two day…or three to finish Deity!!! (Not to mention I’m now moving toward Apollyon and Sentinel. And…I almost finish Apollyon.) See? The Covenant series is becoming a devoured book!!! It can now be place as love, not like, not OK. But love. I love how everything goes and what is going to happen next.

Alexandria isn’t sure she’s going to make it to her eighteenth birthday—till her awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her. And if the council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she’s a goner…and so is Aiden.

If that’s not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time “training”—which really is just Seth’s code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time—she ends up with another mark of Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.
But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she’s caught between love and fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed…and destroyed.
Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than fate…

How does this book go—first, Seth is not-so-horrible anymore. He shows his…well...better part. Second, Seth keeps lying. All. The. Time. Of course is Seth who has been lying!!! Unless you believed the “one” in the summary is Aiden. Really? Isn’t that obvious? Or…well…somehow…Aiden did lied…but not that important. Everyone knows he cared for Alex, don’t we? All right, back to story, enough of Aiden or Seth. This book is a connection between the fourth and the second, not very important…but it is written in a great way. Some important parts are revealed in this book and some freaking things had also happened. It’s a YA edition of Percy Jackson…but hotter and more thrilling. Why do I compare it to Percy Jackson? Well…they’re both about Greek gods…one about demigods, the other…well…the heirs of demigods. And seriously? All those fate and gods involving stuff really reminds me Percy Jackson…but in a good way. Not like Half-blood and Vampire Academy reminded way…that’s copy. This is something different, a YA version, with authors’ own creation.

There were no pupils or irises, just while orbs that seems full of electricity.

Really? Of all those quote…I choose the weirdest one? Well…what I mean is that…Gods are coming!!! We can see several gods appeared in this book, four actually. Apollo, Artemis, Hades, and Poseidon. That doesn’t so much count as a spoiler right? So I’m not going to tell you when or how they appeared. Oh! Mention of Hades…he really reminds me of Rhysand from A Court of Mist and Fury. “Darkly Handsome” well…not so true, but the same…right? Some of the gods play an important role, really important…while the others just…appeared. And cause some destruction. I suppose that’s what gods do…causing destruction. (Running away from punishment…) but although I said that The Covenant series is a YA version of Percy Jackson…the “gods” part isn’t so much the same. Although…Apollo did although appear in…a very different way. And his dialogue and interaction with Alex…I’ll laugh every time he appeared. Especially when they’re alone. So funny. When everyone bowed and respected Apollo…Alex…is still Alex.

 Well…she did cussed many time.

And beside Aiden, Seth, and the gods’ part…Deacon, Lea, Luke, and Olivia also become more vital in this series. I really like how Lea and Alex’s relationship goes. They’re not friend…but they’ve come a long way from enemy. They…well…respected each other and at least they didn’t punch each other anymore. See? That’s a HUGE step!!! In Half-blood…they fight almost every time they met. Every. Time.

Who can imagine that they’ve come so far? And I really like Lea, when she’s not acting like a bitch…she is a bit like Alex…real, strong, and skilled. Umm…it’s hard to describe her…but she is actually becoming better in this book…and I like that!

Deity is really a great book and worth reading. Did I said Pure is good? Than Deity is great! I love it…and all those little details and schemes and Alex and Aiden. I just love it. Right now…I no longer mind the material of the paper! The book is just so good to ignore that part!!! Not to mention the gorgeous cover…I love the beautiful cover.
