The One and Only—April Book Haul

The One and Only—April Book Haul
Yes, you’re not mistake. ONE AND ONLY. Only one book in my April book haul…unless I miraculously get more money…than I’ll put them into May’s book haul list. Well…back to title! Why do I only get one book for April’s book haul? Because…I bought the mightiest, the magnificent, the extremely perfect book—Elantris 10th anniversary leather-bound edition!!! Yeah!!!
I’ve waited for this book for so long!! I missed the first edition…because I didn’t have the money then. (100 dollars for book, and if you’re international shipment…30 extra expense. Or if you wish to get it quicker…you can add 100…but I’m not in such a rush…so…save my purse for other books.) But it’s worth the money, it’s so beautiful! And author’s signed edition!!! (Screaming!!!!)
  Elantris by Brandon Sanderson

Elantris was the capital of Arelon: gigantic, beautiful, literally radiant, filled with benevolent beings who used their powerful magical abilities for the benefit of all. Yet each of these demigods was once an ordinary person until touched by the mysterious transforming power of the Shaod. Ten years ago, without warning, the magic failed. Elantrians became wizened, leper-like, powerless creatures, and Elantris itself dark, filthy, and crumbling.
Arelon's new capital, Kae, crouches in the shadow of Elantris. Princess Sarene of Teod arrives for a marriage of state with Crown Prince Raoden, hoping -- based on their correspondence -- to also find love. She finds instead that Raoden has died and she is considered his widow. Both Teod and Arelon are under threat as the last remaining holdouts against the imperial ambitions of the ruthless religious fanatics of Fjordell. So Sarene decides to use her new status to counter the machinations of Hrathen, a Fjordell high priest who has come to Kae to convert Arelon and claim it for his emperor and his god.
But neither Sarene nor Hrathen suspect the truth about Prince Raoden. Stricken by the same curse that ruined Elantris, Raoden was secretly exiled by his father to the dark city. His struggle to help the wretches trapped there begins a series of events that will bring hope to Arelon, and perhaps reveal the secret of Elantris itself.
A rare epic fantasy that doesn't recycle the classics and that is a complete and satisfying story in one volume, Elantris is fleet and fun, full of surprises and characters to care about. It's also the wonderful debut of a welcome new star in the constellation of fantasy.

Unboxing Elantris 10th anniversary leather-bound edition

Oh! Not one and only anymore…I earned some extra money from my mother. And…since I’ve so desperately wanted to read The Heart of Betrayal, I bought it!!! Now I’m waiting for the arrival!!! (Actually…I can’t wait for longer…so I’ve managed to find audiobooks…and now listening to it!!! Ah!!! Rafe & Lia!!!) Also, I’ve brought Red Queen. I heard that this book was extremely excellent! And I’ve wanted to read it for so long! Since it was on sale…I bought it as well!

The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson

Held captive in the barbarian kingdom of Venda, Lia and Rafe have little chance of escape . . . and even less of being together.
Desperate to save her life, Lia's erstwhile assassin, Kaden, has told the Vendan Komisar that she has a magical gift, and the Komisar's interest in Lia is greater than either Kaden or Lia foresaw.
Meanwhile, the foundations of Lia's deeply-held beliefs are crumbling beneath her. Nothing is straightforward: there's Rafe, who lied to her, but has sacrificed his freedom to protect her; Kaden, who meant to assassinate her but has now saved her life; and the Vendans, whom she always believed to be barbarians but whom she now realizes are people who have been terribly brutalized by the kingdoms of Dalbreck and Morrighan. Wrestling with her upbringing, her gift, and her very sense of self, Lia will have to make powerful choices that affect her country, her people . . . and her own destiny.

  Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Mare, a common girl whose once-latent magical power draws her into the dangerous intrigue of the king's palace. Will her power save her or condemn her?
Mare Barrow's world is divided by blood--those with common, Red blood serve the Silver- blooded elite, who are gifted with superhuman abilities. Mare is a Red, scraping by as a thief in a poor, rural village, until a twist of fate throws her in front of the Silver court. Before the king, princes, and all the nobles, she discovers she has an ability of her own.
To cover up this impossibility, the king forces her to play the role of a lost Silver princess and betroths her to one of his own sons. As Mare is drawn further into the Silver world, she risks everything and uses her new position to help the Scarlet Guard--a growing Red rebellion--even as her heart tugs her in an impossible direction. One wrong move can lead to her death, but in the dangerous game she plays, the only certainty is betrayal.

A lot less than March…but since I’ve sacrificed my money on Elantris…I don’t regret at all! And I’m anxiously waiting for The Heart of Betrayal!!! The Remnant Chronicles, here I come!!!
