The Fairest Beauty Review (Fairy Tale Romance Series)

The Fairest Beauty
By Melanie Dickerson
A daring rescue.
A difficult choice.
The third book of the series, which is adapt from the fairy tale Snow White. I must admit, I never like Snow White...so I guest this kind of affect the point I read this book. But this is still a great book, just not my favorite one. And I think this one is not so similar to Disney movie if you compare to the last two books.

Sophie desperately wants to get away from her stepmother’s jealousy, and believes escape is her only chance to be happy. Then a young man named Gabe arrives from Hagenheim Castle, claiming she is betrothed to his older brother, and everything twists upside down. This could be Sophie’s one chance at freedom—but can she trust another person to keep her safe?
Gabe defied his parents Rose and Wilhelm by going to find Sophie, and now he believes they had a right to worry: the girl’s inner and outer beauty has enchanted him. Though romance is impossible—she is his brother’s future wife, and Gabe himself is betrothed to someone else—he promises himself he will see the mission through, no matter what.
When the pair flee to the Cottage of the Seven, they find help—but also find their feelings for each other have grown. Now both must not only protect each other from the dangers around them—they must also protect their hearts.
Although it's the third book among the Series, I read it after the forth book ( the Captive Maiden ) so I guess because I love Valten and Gisela so much, I can hardly love Gabe and Sofie. This book somehow remind me The Healer's Apprentice, they have quiet same connection between them : both bound by betrothed, threaten by villains. I still enjoy reading this book, Sofie had her courage and bravely and Gabe is incredibly handsome when he saved Sofie. But I expected to read romance scene in this series and yet however this book is much more of adventure. Not that I don't like adventure stories, just I think Melanie Dickerson didn't write the plot that exciting. ( but we can see the improvement in The Princess Spy! Great work! Melanie Dickerson )   Great book...just not on my top list. ( I know some people love this book, but...just like I said : not enough Romance! )
